About Us...
This website is owned and operated by AE5K for the benefit of the Amateur Radio community interested in the Atmel AVR microcontroller.
A little about AE5K: I have been involved with "micros" since the original Intel 4004 back around 1973, graduating to the Intel 8008 and eventually the 8080. Beginning in 1975, I was employed by Motorola Semiconductor Division (Phoenix, Arizona) with involvement in their 6800, 6809, and eventually the 68000 series. During the late 70's and the 80's I was also a part-time (read that "moonlighting") instructor at several community colleges in the Phoenix area teaching classes on various microprocessors.
Later employment included opportunties to use many of the micros on the market including the PIC, 8051 series, 68hc05, AVR and others. Duties involved design, firmware, software, and manufacturing -- pretty much everything from product conception to field service.
Licensed as a radio ham since 1953, I now hold the Amateur Extra license. I am active (as time permits) on HF, VHF, and into the microwave frequencies. My interests cover a wide spectrum of ham activities and modes and you can find me just as comfortable on QRP CW as with SSB or PSK31. A major project in the making is a 1296 MHz. (23 cm.) EME (moonbounce) station. QTH: northern Arkansas Ozarks, grid locator EM36pc. Website for AE5K is http://ae5k.us
